St. Patrick's Day
I'm staying with my parents on the Gold Coast now. I had a fun time in Melbourne at my friend's wedding.
March 17th is St. Patrick's Day. It's a public holiday in Ireland, in other countries people of Irish descent often wear green on that day. Green is Ireland's national color.
St. Patrick is the national saint of Ireland. He was a missionary who converted many of the Irish to Christianity.
My father is Irish and on St. Patrick's Day my parents invited some friends over and they drank Guinness and ate Irish stew.
New York has many Irish people and they have a big St. Patrick's Day parade. Most of the Irish pubs in Japan have a special celebration for St. Patrick's Day. Some Irish pubs even serve green beer.

By the way, St. Patrick's Day is very special for Irish people while Christmas and Valentine's Day are more famous in Japan, istn't it? I didn't know much of the day.
