St. Patrick's Day
March 17th is St. Patrick's Day. It's a national holiday in Ireland.
In other countries, people sometimes celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Irish pubs usually have special celebrations.
St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland. Green is Ireland's national color, so some people wear green clothes on St. Patrick's Day. Some Irish pubs serve green beer (normal beer with food coloring in it).
My father is Irish, so we had a special lunch today. Some of my parents' friends came to our house and we ate some Irish stew.
